Description

character (c) ~Animegirly
art (c) kaazi

it's amazing how much impact the lineart has on an entire pic. this drawing was done in the same style as usual and using the same colouring methods. the only thing different is the thickness of the line. wow

it's supposed to be pancakes back there in the background... but it kind of looks like a hotdog. my bad xD

also, the thing she's sitting on is totally modeled after the Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube

anyway...

~Animegirly's Perfect Deception is the winner [link]

knowledge: I was really impressed with this entry. she really went out of her way to do well on it. I love how the back of the cover was included along with the story synopsis and a few screenshots. she even included a upc code!

the title was presentable, not overwhelming, and in a style suiting to the rest of the artwork

art: the main character on the front interested me and I adore her outfit. the black and white tones, with ties, frills, and skirts, brought a very classy theme. I could imagine this video game having a very jazzy, old school soundtrack and feel to it

story and presentation: story-wise I was also impressed. it was simple, but has the potential to get really deep and complex. to live in a world decieved by a lie and being one of few that realizes it, forced to hide your own beliefs and knowledge of the truth... wow, just awesome

well done! let me know when you'd like your subscription activated. feel free to wait as long as you like, or it can be activated as soon as possible

(just wanted people to know why they didn't win. if some of this seems harsh, please don't take it personally. a lot of it is just my own personal opinion and I mean no offense. I did like all of the entries, I know everyone says this but I really do wish everyone could have won)

2nd place: ~Galwin's Cantus

the cover art on this one was absoluetly excellent. of all the entries, artistically I think this one was the most appealing to me. however, I wasn't very impacted by the story or anything... it just seemed to be your everyday run-of-the-mill turn based rpg complete with animal people and a war between races

3rd place: ~panty-cake's Eden's Curse

I like the art on this one too, except the title seemed to be an out-of-place colour and didn't blend well at all. the text for it was also very bland and didn't seem suiting to the story. the story though did interest me a bit. I like the good-guy spin you put on hell and demons and everything. however, it was just a little bit cliche, and your repeated "I didn't win, I know I didn't win" made me... kind of not want you to win xD

4th place: ~stateyourcase's Till Death Do Us Part

in all, complete, 100% honesty, because I think ~stateyourcase can handle it, the only reason this entry made it into the finals was because my brothers liked it. don't get me wrong, the art is well done, it looks like you tried hard on it and I respect it as a piece of art, but it is a video game I would never play

the title is cliche and doesn't seem to have any connection with anything. what purpose is the reference to a line in a marriage ceremony? maybe I'm just missing some information. also, just the whole evil, hell, demons, grim reaper, devil thing seems to be extraordinarily overdone. I have seen/read/played a million stories about that kind of thing and without an interesting twist on it, to me, it's just bland. also, nintendo doesn't make games for the playstation. like I said though, I did like the art, and if you and other people like your story then what I say doesn't matter at all xD

thanks everyone who participated! I look forward to seeing you in my next contest

Hmmmm... I think the background looks good. I like how you used the thicker and thiner lines. It really helps one to grasp more of a feeling of distance in the pic and makeing seem more demisional, I guse rather then it all being the same line thikness and lossing that concept. You know what I'm saying?
